Start: South end of Ynysangharad Road
End: North end of Coedpenmaen Road
Distance: 1.05 miles (approx)
Coming from the south, the first landmark you will pass on Ynysangharad Road is the industrial/retail park on the west side.
Continuing north takes you onto Coedpenmaen Road and across the A470 via a footbridge and through more of Pontypridd's streets until you finally reach proper off-road track again just before Cilfynydd.
It's definitely worth straying from the Taff Trail in Pontypridd to take in Ynysangharad Park and the wonderful tree trunk sculptures it exhibits. You can also cross the river at the west side of the park to get to Taff Street where you will find plenty of shops.

Google MapSituated on Merthyr Road, just across from the A470, The Royal Oak is a great Chinese restaurant. It is slightly off the Taff Trail and if you are planning on stopping here you'll need to turn off Coedpenmaen Road onto Dodington Place (under the A470) and then follow the road round and turn left onto Merthyr Road.
